Set in the not-so-distant future, where technology allows people to stream their subconscious to an online profile and live out their wildest fantasies in a futuristic, anything-goes world. Some people go as far as never returning to the real world.
In this online world, we’ve advanced to where our dreams of the future have come true, massively tall buildings, flying cars, and rapid transport. Sounds pretty great, huh? Well, one person doesn’t think so. And that would be our hero. Sam Wyerznowski.
Sam, he’s is a bit of a stick in the mud. Set in his old ways. He is not a fan of this new technology, nor is he a fan of the people who inhabit this online world. Oddly enough, Sam’s job brings him into this world…constantly! A weird profession for someone so against technology. Sam has recently been on a leave of absence, or what some call a “forced retirement.” This retirement was brought on by events entirely in Sam’s control. And I mean completely.
Yet, when one of the research facilities of Sam’s previous employer, Ms. Teller, is attacked, she has no choice but to turn to the one person who can help her. That person was unfortunately unavailable, so now she is stuck with Sam. Can Sam shake off the rust in time to survive this whole ordeal? Or is he about to discover that the problem he’s stumbling into is much larger than he could have imagined? (Spoilers: it is!)
